About this Bed and Breakfast

Beechlands Bed and Breakfast is a charming Edwardian house in the village of Sleights just 3 miles from Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast. We're perfect for coast and country touring, situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and only a 5 minute stroll from a bus stop and train station offering regular services into Whitby. Two great village inns, a cafe, shops and a garden centre with a riverside cafe are within walking distance and ample free parking is adjacent. Complimentary free WiFi is available in rooms and we extend a warm welcome to guests all year round with special offers regularly available during low season. No pets and no children please - Beechlands is the perfect retreat, strictly non-smoking throughout, and close to beautiful beaches and picturesque villages.

Guest Rooms

We have two attractive double bedrooms and one single room. All rooms include a colour TV, free WiFi and a refreshment tray with tea and coffee making facilities.

Breakfast

Enjoy a hearty breakfast included in booking price and consisting of fruit juice, various cereals, cooked to order full English breakfast and plentiful tea and coffee with toast and a good choice of preserves. We always use fresh local produce. Vegetarians, vegans and diabetics are catered for on request.

Availability

Open all year round. Out of season offers are available, and we offer a good discount for stays of 3 or more nights from Monday to Thursday during the winter season.

Around and About

Two village pubs, a butcher, baker, a general store, a cafe, post office, a garden centre with a great riverside cafe and a fish and chip restaurant are all just a short walk away in Sleights centre.

Our Bed and Breakfast is a great base from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and coastal towns in the area. We're also on direct bus and train routes to York, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Whitby. Guests can pick up the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway from Whitby which runs through the heart of the National Park to Pickering.

Sleights is only a few minutes' drive from the village of Goathland, famous as Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat. The surrounding area contains numerous scenic walks and a waterfall is near the Mallyan Spout Hotel.

Pretty villages in the North York Moors within easy reach include Thornton Dale, Levisham, Grosmont, Rosedale, Lockton, Danby and Hutton-le-Hole. On the coast Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay are all close by.
